This Is Us!

(Spoiler: We’re not your average travel blog couple. And yes, that’s a llama in the photo.)

We’re Robert and Margot—a pair of late bloomers who believe that life doesn’t come with an expiration date on finding love, adventure, or your people.

We met in November 2019 and were married 10 months later in Vegas by Elvis. 

Since then, we’ve weathered one massive home renovation, a wildly corrupt POA (think HOA on steroids), a move to house number two, five beloved pups crossing the rainbow bridge, and—at the beginning of it all—a pandemic that taught us tomorrow isn’t promised. 

So now? We’re choosing now.

We bought Winnie—our Winnebago Revel—to hit the road with our two Boston Terriers, Splash and Ninja, chase sunsets, find the best roadside pie, and turn the page to a new chapter we get to write together.

Robert retired 12 years ago after a long career in research with ExxonMobil in Baton Rouge. He’s made retirement an art form—giving back to the community as a volunteer basketball coach, school board president, and even a city councilman until something had to give in his schedule.

Me, I’m a recovering court reporter who still moonlights with my steno keys.  But mostly, I’m chasing my real dream—returning to writing after a previous successful stint.  With my first novel complete and in the hands of my developmental editor, I’m 70,000 words into my next thriller. Because when you truly love something, it’s not work.

So I’ll be behind the keyboard chronicling our adventures while Robert channels his engineering brain to share hacks, fixes, and insights for Sprinter Van owners and fellow tinkering types.

And we’d love this to be a two-way street!
