This Is Us!
(Spoiler: We’re not your average travel blog couple. And yes, that’s a llama in the photo.)
We’re Robert and Margot—a pair of late bloomers who believe that life doesn’t come with an expiration date on finding love, adventure, or your people.
We met in November 2019 and were married 10 months later in Vegas by Elvis.
Since then, we’ve weathered one massive home renovation, a wildly corrupt POA (think HOA on steroids), a move to house number two, five beloved pups crossing the rainbow bridge, and—at the beginning of it all—a pandemic that taught us tomorrow isn’t promised.
So now? We’re choosing now.
Road life began with Winnie—our Winnebago Revel—and our two Boston Terriers, Splash and Ninja.
Winnie introduced us to adventure.
She also introduced us to a few things we didn't love:
A bouncy ride.
A bed that required us to be shot from a cannon to land in it.
A refrigerator that doubled as a cave for spelunking adventures when the only thing we really wanted was creamer.
So we traded in Winnie for Tommy Vann—Our Airstream Interstate Tommy Bahama edition—and suddenly the road stopped being about workarounds and started being about wandering.
Now we're chasing sunsets, roadside pie, accidental friendships, hidden gems, and stories worth telling.
Robert channels his engineer brain into fixes, hacks, and van wisdom.
Me? I'm the recovering court reporter still moonlighting with steno keys while returning to what I've loved all along:
Writing.
Because when you love something, it doesn't feel like work.
This site is part travel log, part soapbox, part love story, and part reminder that there are are no do-overs.
We’re just a couple of "Roadmantics" trying to make the back nine of life the most unforgettable part of the scorecard.
Thanks for joining us.
Let’s roll!
